Joseph O'Connor
Educated at Cambridge University, Joe worked on Wall Street in New York City at Morgan Stanley, reporting to the Managing Director in the Risk Management Unit. He later worked with a Fortune 500 corporation implementing policy and change management across 135 countries reporting directly to a member of the C-Suite.
Laterally, he has worked advising two family investment offices and numerous investors on the following issues: tax, inheritance, family and succession, residencies and citizenship, banking, and investment strategies. He has helped clients across the world - from the United States to Australia - grow and protect their wealth and importantly, their well-being.
He still maintains his biggest accolade was written early in his career when his Dean of Law recommended Joe as not a "strict black-letter lawyer". To this day his pioneering solutions make him the go-to expert on global tax.
Joe is a member of the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He speaks at taxation conferences and investing symposiums worldwide.
In his free time Joe likes nothing better than to sail his small racing boat with friends.
Nate Peterson
Educated at Princeton University, Nate worked with a Big Four accountancy firm for over a decade before moving into private wealth management and the family office investing industry. With 3 decades of experience, there is little that he has not advised upon. His specialty is off-shoring, citizenship by investment and personal taxation.
His clients find his personal service second to none. His insight on worldwide residencies and taxation issues were described by a client as "encyclopedic". When clients come to Branst, they discover that many of their issues become the subject of Nate's arsenal of solutions. In collaboration with Joe and the entire Branst team, he goes the extra mile to meet the client's needs.
The local knowledge that Nate possesses is possibly one of Branst's strongest assets. He has worked on 4 continents and his network of lawyers, accountants and industry professionals is the envy of the global taxation community.
He is sought for extensive track record on complex taxation issues and his focus on getting the best result possible for the client.
When not spending his leisure time with his family, Nate is an avid doubles tennis player.
